Shibari, something that will likely show up more in my future work … and life.
My encounter to Shibari was through a friend – Taylor, who suggested me to give it a try. At the time, I was going through some tough time mentally. I did not hesitate because I was searching for various way to solve some personal issues and to calm a very volatile emotions I had. But to be able to find the right resource to learn Shibari was difficult, especially in Calgary.
I wouldn’t say I immediately fall in love with it, but Taylor is right. The process of tying helps calm my emotional turmoil, it’s almost like meditation and I am gradually falling in love with it.
I don’t have a lot of words for Shibari right now as I am still exploring this new practice. Whenever I have the opportunity and find a like minded soul, I will incorporate it into what I do.
Consider this a new beginning, because life is too short not to experiment new things.
